Macroblock (Hsinchu, Taiwan) has introduced its LED driver, the MBI 1011, that’s designed to replace EL backlighting systems employed within DVD players, LCD backlighting systems and handheld, digital equipment. The drivers can be powered directly by batteries and maintain a 25mA current consistent with white-LED brightness requirements, the company reports. The MBI 1011 accepts input voltages from 3 to 5.5 V, and offers low-voltage dropout that improves power efficiency up to 92%.
