Cree Inc. (Durham, NC) has disclosed that the Advanced Technology Program (ATP), in conjunction with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the U.S. Dept. of Energy’s Office of Building Technologies, have chosen the company to receive $4.2 million in funding that will subsidize solid-state lighting and research. The program’s goal is the reduction of illumination cost and energy consumed. The three-year program will be jointly conducted with the Nanocrystal Lighting Corp.
